Free Community Response Team (CERT) training
The first of five consecutive Saturday morning classes covering the national curriculum for Community Response Team (CERT).

The classes will be held at the City of Westlake Service Garage, 741 Bassett Road. The free 20 hour adult basic course, conducted by local safety professionals, includes topics such as disaster preparedness, basic injury assessment and medical treatment, search and rescue procedures, fire suppression, and much more. Those who complete training may be eligible to become a member of the Westshore team.

Westlake Porter Public Library 2010 Book Sale Half – Price Sale
The Friends of Westlake Porter Public Library will be having their 2010 Annual Book Sale on February 4-7. A Preview Night will be held on February 3rd from 4-8:30 for Members of Friends. Thousands of books will be available at the sale including Fiction, Non-Fiction, books for Children, Special-priced books, and Audio-visual materials. This year there will be hundreds of VHS tapes on sale for $.25. A Silent Auction of some very special books with a Cleveland theme will be held during the month of January, with final bids taken on February 7th. Saturday February 6th will be the half-price sale, and Sunday, February 7th will be the Bag Sale.
