Shoremen Brass Classic
7:00 PM
The Drum Corps International (DCI) tour comes to Avon Lake. This new event will host a dynamic lineup of seven drum corps from across the USA and Canada competing as part of “Marching Music’s Major League."
Each of the seven groups will perform uniquely arranged music and creative visual productions on the football field. The opening ceremonies will include a performance of our national anthem by the Buckeye All-Star Band, led by guest conductor Mr. Jonathan Waters, Director of The Ohio State University Marching Band. The Buckeye All-Star Band is comprised of outstanding high school marching band students selected by area high school band directors.
Single tickets are $8-12 presale; $10-15 at the gate. Online tickets can be purchased at http://www.dci.org/tickets or at http://www.ShoremenBrassClassic.com.

Starry Night: All Jazzed Up

Join friends of Lakewood Hospital for Starry Night- All Jazzed Up! Recognized as one of the west side’s premier events of the summer, Starry Night brings together the community to make a difference in the fight against diabetes.
Held outside under a large tent on the hospital campus, highlights of the evening include food stations with a variety of delicious offerings prepared by the staff of Aramark, a silent auction and raffle, and entertainment by Killer Watt Hours.
Funds from the event benefit the hospital’s Diabetes Expo and Diabetes Assistance Initiative, which providing diabetes testing supplies, medications and education to people who are unable to afford these basic survival needs. Through efforts such as Starry Night, we are able to educate the community and offer assistance to those in need.
Tickets for Starry Night begin at $100, and can be purchased at lakewoodhospitalfoundation.org/starrynight or by calling 216-529-7009. This event has sold out in the past; please make your reservations early.
