Family Fishing Day
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Here's your chance to introduce the family to fishing! Learn about the basics at the Center: equipment, how to cast, where to fish and what kind of fish you'll catch. Then head to Lake Erie to cast your line in the water. All equipment will be provided. Adults and teens (ages 16 and up) who wish to fish must possess a valid fishing license. One adult must accompany every 2 children registered for this program. For families with children ages 5 and up. Fee: $10/person.

Spring Sing! A Pops Concert

The Church of the Redeemer UCC Chancel Choir presents “Spring Sing!” — A Pops Concert — Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. in the Redeemer sanctuary, 23500 Center Ridge Road, Westlake.

In addition to solo performances by some of the choir members, this free concert features many toe-tapping tunes, including these crowd pleasers:

• “Twentiana,” a choral montage of such 1920s favorites as “I Want to be Happy,” “Tea for Two,” “Charleston,” and “Carolina in the Morning,” among others.

• A 1960s medley that includes “It’s My Party,” “Chapel of Love,” and “These Boots are Made for Walking”;

• And a “Best of the Beach Boys” medley with favorites “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”

The Church of the Redeemer UCC Chancel Choir is under the direction of Carol Peddie, with piano accompaniment by Jason Aquila, Redeemer organist and Baldwin Wallace faculty member.
