The use of real names fosters genuine discussion and promotes a sense of community. Here you can engage in conversation with real people who live in our neighborhoods, not strangers hiding behind a screen name.
People who are posting under their real names are less inclined to post mean-spirited or inflammatory comments, which makes this online community a more comfortable place to gather and talk.
