Westlake organizations come together to stop wandering children
Connecting For Kids, Westlake-Bay Village Rotary and Westlake Kiwanis Aktion Club worked together to help put a stop to wandering. Connecting for Kids was able to purchase S.T.O.P. Wandering Kits as a result of a donation from Westlake-Bay Village Rotary. The kits were assembled and packaged by Westlake Kiwanis Aktion Club. The kits contain GE door/window alarms, a write-on ID bracelet, four laminated stop sign visuals and a S.TO.P. (Supervise, Teach, Organize, Protect) wandering guide.
No one want to think about the dangers of their child wandering, but as parents or caregivers to a child who wanders it is important to understand what wandering is and why it is dangerous, then take the necessary steps to put a S.T.O.P. to wandering.
