St. Patrick's Day isn't just for the Irish!
On Wednesday, March 17, from 7-8:45 p.m., those of Central and Eastern European descent will have an opportunity to learn more about their cultural roots and heritage. Robert Jerin, of the Croatian Heritage Museum, will speak at the March meeting of the Cuyahoga West Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, at Westlake Porter Public Library, 27333 Center Ridge Road.
Mr. Jerin is widely recognized as an accomplished genealogical researcher, lecturer and author of the handbook entitled, "Searching for Your Croatian Roots (7th edition)." Since 2005, he has led cultural heritage and history tours to Croatia and conducted genealogical workshops there and in the U.S. While Robert's main ties are to Croatia, he is also familiar with genealogical research strategies, for other Central and Eastern European locales.
The public is invited, at no charge. Come early for refreshments and social time from 6:30-7 p.m. For additional information, call 440-899-9201 or visit Cuyahoga West Chapter's website at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohcwogs.
