See what’s happening at the Rec

Halloween is over and the trick or treat is done but the fun does not end there. There are plenty of fall programs going on at the Westlake Recreation Center. Programs full of fun times and learning experiences.

Join us Friday Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of family fun. New this year, the Rec is hosting a family dance. DJ Eazy will play some cool tunes to dance to. Light refreshments will be served and a photo memento will be provided to each family.

It’s not to late to sign up for Pony Lessons Jr. Get the chance to let your child learn about ponies, play games and have horse and pony story lines. This is a great opportunity to let the kids have fun and learn all at the same time. Classes start November 7th.

Here’s something for the little ones. If your little one likes sports and would like to learn about them, sign them up for our Tiny Tot classes. We offer Tot Soccer, Bitty Basketball, and Tot Whiffleball. These classes teach the basics of each sport in a small group setting.

Looking for something for the kids that are a little older? Look no further. Try out our Youth Co-ed Bowling for kids grades K-8. The kids will bowl against their friends at Bay Lanes. Games will start Saturday Nov. 7 at 9:00 a.m. for grades K-4, and 10:30 a.m. for kids grades 5-8.

If your kids are between the ages of 6-12 and they like to draw and are artistic or would like to learn more about art, sign them up for our art classes. Check out The Power of Drawing class or Cartooning for Kids class. Each class is geared for the basics. The Power of Drawing will teach skills, techniques and vocabulary used in drawing. Cartooning for Kids will teach how to create silly characters, funny expressions and learning to tell jokes through cartoons.
