Rolling along at the Rec

Rollers take their places at the top of the hill for the annual Great Pumpkin Roll on Nov. 6.

Thanksgiving is here. With that in mind, the Westlake Recreation Center slows down on some of the programming for the week and weekend. After the holiday keep your eyes and ears open for those programs that will get you moving and burn off all the good holiday food and treats.

Leading up to Thanksgiving we have a handful of programs for the kids and adults. Nov. 23 is a busy day with Learn to Swim lessons starting up for those of all ages and abilities. Also Tiny Turners and Tumble Bugs start up the same day which will have the kids learning about gymnastics in a non-competitive atmosphere. The next day, on Nov. 24, Prenatal/Postnatal Fitness will start. This class will help those soon-to-be moms or recent new moms with the discomforts of pregnancy.

Just a reminder: We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day in observance of the holiday and will be open regular business hours Thanksgiving weekend.

Keep in mind that after the Thanksgiving holiday is over there are programs to get you exercising and working off the extra food intake. More information regarding all of these programs can be found at our website at http://www.cityofwestlake.org/recreation and by stopping by the Recreation Center at 28955 Hilliard Blvd, calling us at 440-808-5700 or picking up our new Rec Gazette.

Chris Haldi works for the City of Westlake Recreation Department.
