Basic skills now in Westlake: Affordable basic reading and math skills classes for all ages

You and your family now have convenient access to basic reading and basic math classes in Westlake and available to surrounding communities. These classes are for students of all ages and are held at the Westlake Recreation Center.

“The purpose is to offer you high quality tutoring in small groups at affordable rates,” said Robert Deminico, manager of the Westlake Recreation Center. “All of North Coast Tutoring Services' tutors are experienced, professional master tutors with bachelor’s degrees and are specifically trained for these classes. Many tutors have advanced degrees.”

Classes include several levels of basic reading and basic math, and are limited to 7 students and meet on Thursday evenings. Basic reading instruction is based on RICHARDS READ Systematic Language. This simplified approach to reading is extremely effective with struggling readers and non-readers. It is multi-sensory, systematic, and research-based. The multi-sensory math program, Real Life Ma+h, helps students learn basic math quickly and effectively.

Reading and math skills are critical for success in grades K through 12, college, and life in the real world. A solid base is important for all students. North Coast Tutoring Services was founded 25 years ago by Carole Richards, president and CEO of the company.
