Jump into June
The beginning of June has several programs starting for people of all ages. We offer programs for all interests. Check out your program book, visit our website or keep an eye out for the next issue of the Observer for some great programming that will keep you busy and in shape. Here are some programs that are coming up very soon. Don't miss out on these great opportunities.
We can help you out if your child is home schooled. We offer the Home School Sport Swim and Fitness Program for children up to the age of 15. This is an instructor-led program that teaches the basics of fitness, sport skills, PE-style games and swimming fundamentals. The children will get a chance to run around, swim, learn and have fun. Classes start May 20.
The Westlake Recreation Center is dedicated to offering quality programming for individuals with special needs. FITastic Kids is a six-week program using the equipment in the DEN to focus on strength training, stretching and balance exercises that starts May 22. We also have a FITastic Kids open DEN starting May 26, which allows you to come for a full hour or as much time as your schedule allows. These classes are geared for kids ages 10 and up.
Are you too young to use the DEN? Well we have something for you. DEN Jr. is for kids ages seven to nine who want to learn about benefits of exercising. This class will use a step-by-step approach to exercising and will allow for the kids to learn new/improved ways to exercise. Space is limited, sign up now before it’s too late for the May 26 session.
Register by June 11 to make sure you have a spot in the Pee Wee Softball program. This six-week program will help your four- to six-year-old learn the basics of the sport while having fun and meeting some new friends. Space is limited so sign up now to make sure you get the practice time you want.
