Springing into summer
Getting ready for the summer can sometimes be a pain. Getting into shape, finding something for the kids to do or finding ways to keep yourself busy might be some hard things to come by. Well the Westlake Recreation Center can help solve your problems. We have plenty of programming to offer to keep you and your kids busy leading up to and during the summer months. Check out what we have to offer.
Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to learn new moves. We are offering Ballroom Basics, Advanced Ballroom and Beginning Swing starting May 12. If you’re in the mood to learn some new steps and want to dance like the stars, these classes are for you.
Here’s a class for soon-to-be moms. We are offering a Prenatal/Post Natal Fitness class. Exercising regularly helps with reducing pregnancy discomfort. Class starts May 12, it will focus on techniques to help you through and after your pregnancy.
This class is for those children who want to use the D.E.N. The DEN Intro is a two-day class where children will learn how to use the equipment and learn the benefits the DEN has to offer. After completing this two-day class each child will receive a DEN card and will be able to use the DEN during open hours. Classes will start May 11 at 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Does your child like to help you out in the kitchen? Wait no longer and sign them up for Little Chefs. This course will teach kids ages 4-7 how to make fun and simple recipes they can make at home. Class starts May 7.
If you’re looking for a challenging yet rewarding workout you should try out our HardCORE class. This is an intense overall body workout comprised of Kenpo, plyometrics, calisthenics and an ab/core shredder. Try it out for one day or a month. HardCORE starts May 11.
Sign up the kids before it’s too late. This summer the kids will need a place to go for the day. Our summer day camp is the answer. From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. everyday during the week you can drop your child off and we will take care of them. This camp is full of entertaining fun. Each week the kids will enjoy a field trip. Last year there was a trip to the Zoo, Peterson Pool and much more. Camp is designed for child in the grades 1-6. Any questions may be directed to Rachel O’Malley at 440-617-4418.
