Unity's fall lineup offers fun and enlightenment

A full spectrum of educational and enlightening events will be open to the public at Unity Spiritual Center and Unity Hall this fall. Unity is located at 23855 Detroit Rd., a block west of Clague Road.

Thursday, Sept. 22 (7 p.m.) – "Forks Over Knives," the acclaimed movie, traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering researchers, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn of Cleveland Clinic and Dr. T. Colin Campbell of Cornell University. They examine the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed by rejecting our present menu of animal-based foods.

Friday, Sept. 30 (7:30 p.m.) – Ancient history lovers will enjoy an Egyptian Multimedia Spectacular by Egypt expert and film producer, Don King. This original production will include film clips, slides, live Egyptian dancers, authentic food and drink, poetry and exotic music. Attendees are invited to wear an Egyptian costume.

Oct. 2-Nov. 11, weekly – Readers and people who enjoy a good book discussion can experience Unity’s Fall Program, a six-week program of book discussion groups held weekly in people’s homes. The small discussion groups will study Ellen Debenport’s book "The Five Principles: A Guide to Practical Spirituality." The Fall Program is a fun way to meet new people and enjoy rousing discussions. Unity is non-denominational.

Saturday, Oct. 29 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) – Speaker, best-selling author, and consultant for over three decades, Mary Morrissey will conduct a workshop at Unity. Her transformational talks and seminars have made her one of the elite teachers in the human potential movement.

Friday, Dec. 9 (6:30 p.m.) – Unity, in partnership with The Spirituality Conference Group, is bringing Gregg Braden, New York Times bestselling author and internationally renowned as a pioneer in bridging science and spirituality, for a Friday evening talk and a Saturday, Dec. 10 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) workshop in Mayfield. The author of "2012, Fractal Time," "The God Code," "Divine Matrix"  and more, will provide fascinating insights into deeper truths. He has a new book coming out in October.
