A lifetime of achievement

Barb Bartlome, currently the Director of Community Relations at the Gardens at Westlake, has spent a good portion of her career on top of the marketing and sales world in the Greater Cleveland area. Barb is known throughout the community for her dedication, tireless efforts and attention to detail in everything she does. She has made many colleagues and close friends throughout the years and to this day continues to add her expertise to the long-term-care field. She not only guides the Gardens at Westlake in marketing and sales but also in the enhancement of activity programming through her vast resources throughout the area.

Barb has over 32 years of dedicated service in the healthcare industry, which began at The Good Samaritan Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. After over 20 years of distinguished service there, she took on the next challenge: assisted living facilities.

As Director of Community Relations at Our House and now The Gardens at Westlake, Barb has set a tone of excellence in which everyone strives for. Barb is also guest lecturer, educational instructor, health care consultant as well as coordinator for Adult Enrichment for Geriatrics and Alzheimer’s. These are but a few of the professional duties in which she excels at.

Her achievements are many including being recognized in numerous community newspapers, being a featured columnist in Great Ideas in Long term Care as well as Creative Forecasting. She has been recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives for her community involvement, was successfully nominated for the Volunteer of the Year award in 1994, and was invited by the mayor of Westlake to be a member of the Business, Retention and Expansion Task Force. Barb was also successful in writing a letter that helped the Westlake Senior Center obtain a $300,000 renovation grant; the largest award from the grant program for the city of Westlake.

Over the years, Barb has been a member of chambers of commerce, educational committees and wellness councils. She has been president of civic organizations and on the boards of trustees as well. While she has kept quite busy in her professional life she also has found time for her hobbies as well. She is an avid reader, enjoys ballroom dancing, loves to exercise and play golf. She is fondest of all these days spending time with her children and four grandsons.

It is an honor to know Barb Bartlome and call her a colleague. Her many accomplishments, awards and career have led to a lifetime of achievement. Congratulations, Barb, on all you have achieved and all you continue to strive for.
