Upcoming programs at the Bay Village Branch Library

Stop in at the library to see what’s new: books, music, and movies arrive all the time and you’re bound to find something that you’ll enjoy. It hasn’t been cold outside, but it’s still nice to stay inside with a good book and share stories with little ones. Join us for these upcoming programs for entertainment and information. You’ll find it all at the library!

ADULT DEPARTMENT

Thursday, March 1 (7:30 p.m.) THURSDAY EVENING BOOK DISCUSSION – Join us to discuss “The Warmth of Other Suns:  The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration” by Isabel Wilkerson. This book won the 2011 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Nonfiction.

Sunday, March 11 (2 p.m.) A MUSICAL CELEBRATION OF THE WEARING OF THE GREEN – Join us for the annual concert of Irish ballads, jigs and reels presented by the band Turn the Corner.

Wednesday, March 14 (7 p.m.) MUSIC OF THE BEATLES – Enjoy the music of acoustic guitarist Rick Iacoboni as he plays interpretations of many of the Beatles’ most popular songs. Hear the fascinating stories behind the Beatles’ influences, how the songs were written and little-known facts about how they were recorded.

TEEN PROGRAMS

Tuesday, March 6 (4 p.m.) ELECTRIC MUSIC WITH DAVE YOUNG – For ages 11-18. Dave Young will bring his keyboard, microphone and computer to help you create music while you sing, rap or play the keyboard. All performances will be recorded and edited into a song using his mobile recording studio. The library will receive a CD of the final product to post on our website.

Saturday, March 10 (2-4 p.m.) ROBOTIX 3.0 – For ages 11-13. Explore the world of Lego Mindstorms and find out how to teach our robots new tricks. Program a robot to master new challenges, test it out, then watch it go!
