'Nunsense' opens Huntington Playhouse season

Huntington Playhouse will open their 2012 season with a production of “Nunsense.” The musical will open on May 17 and play through June 3. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. with one Sunday matinee June 3. The production is directed by Tom Meyrose and features David Coxe as the musical director with Josh Landis doing the choreography.

Due to an unfortunate accident in the kitchen of the Little Sisters of Hoboken convent, some 52 nuns have gone on to their “reward.” Unfortunately, the nunnery lacks the funds to bury them all. With four sisters still in cold storage, the Reverend Mother decides that she and her remaining nuns will put on a talent show, with the proceeds going towards the Little Sisters' funeral fund.

The nuns are played by Amy Annico, Barb Dragony, Kim Foster, Jayne Kacik and June Lang. Reservations are strongly suggested and may be made by calling the box office at 440-871-8333.

Huntington Playhouse is located at 28601 Lake Rd. in Bay Village and is an affiliate of the Cleveland Metroparks.
