Patriotic band concert and veteran recognition on June 28
The Westlake Music Boosters are presenting the fifth annual Patriotic Band Spectacular on Thursday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. at the Westlake Performing Arts Center adjacent to the high school, 27830 Hilliard Blvd. The band features current and alumni members of the Westlake High School Band and Jazz Band in addition to community musicians. The band is under the direction of Mr. Ray Walczuk, Westlake High School's instrumental music teacher.
A special feature of the concert is recognition of veterans in the audience. Veterans are invited to sign in when they arrive and they will be recognized personally and by their military branch. Mr. Tom Mays, president of the Westlake Board of Education, will lead the recognition.
Patriotic and popular music, as well as big band and jazz music are featured. The concert is followed by a reception. Cost for the concert is $5. All proceeds will benefit Westlake Schools' music program. The concert is sponsored by Westlake Village.
Please note that due to the construction on the grounds of Westlake High School, the driveway entrance east of the school should be used. The building can be entered from the rear and there is a short walk through the school to the Performing Arts Center. Signs and greeters will guide concert goers and the entrance is handicap accessible.
Enjoy a traditional summer band concert in air conditioned comfort and begin your Fourth of July celebration by honoring area veterans! Plenty of tickets will be available at the door. Questions? Call Ray Walczuk at 440-250-1014.
