Two of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center's dedicated student volunteers have been named as recipients of the William & Shirley Snider College Scholarship for 2012. Scott Hulver and McKenna Brabenec met the scholarship's eligibility requirements by not only reaching their academic goals but also by each giving over 100 hours of volunteer service to the nonprofit Center over the past 12 months.

The Scholarship is named in part for Shirley Snider, a friend of Center founder Elberta Fleming. She worked closely with Elberta to create what is now Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. Shirley’s daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Mike Clark, continue to support the Center through their own volunteer service as well as funding this scholarship.
