Autumn is Awesome at Bay Rec

Fall is in full swing at the Bay Village Recreation Department with our football and volleyball programs off to a great start. That only means that basketball season is right around the corner! Registrations have begun for all of our basketball programs, including some new activities for the youngest hoopers. Kickboxing has returned after its summer break and joins our other great ongoing adult fitness programs. Check out some of these and more…

Youth Basketball Clinic, Grades 1-8

Sundays, Oct. 7, 14, 21 (boys: noon-2 p.m.; girls: 2-4 p.m.), Middle School Gym

Boys: noon-2 p.m.; girls: 2-4 p.m. All clinics take place in the Middle School Gym.

Yoga Playtime, Grades 1-5

Thursday, Nov. 8 (9 a.m.-noon), Community House

New! Use music, songs, rhythm, games, and yoga poses to stretch, bend, move, and feel good in our bodies and become more aware of our energy levels. Students will also create a craft and make a healthy snack.


Wednesdays (6:30-7:30 p.m., Bay Lodge) and Saturdays (8:30-9:30 a.m., Community Gym)

Join Cathy for 30 minutes of high and low impact kickboxing and 30 minutes of pilates. Drop in to try it out for $7 (non-resident:$8) or register for a pass and attend up to 15 classes, good for any day and time.

Zumba Fitness

Tuesdays/Thursdays (9:30-10:30 a.m., Community Gym) and Mondays/Thursdays (7-8 p.m., Dwyer Center)

Youth Basketball League

Games: Saturdays, Nov. 17-Feb. 23

League Divisions – Boys: 3/4 Grade, 5/6 Grade, 7/8 Grade; Girls: 3/4 Grade, 5/6 Grade, 7/8 Grade. Basketball season is right around the corner, sign up now! Teams practice one hour per week in addition to Saturday games at the Community Gym. Volunteer coaches needed for this program!

High School Basketball, Grades 9-12

Saturdays, Dec. 1-Feb. 16

The Middle School and Community Gyms will be full of hoops fun this winter. Sign up now! Games take place on Saturdays starting Dec. 1. Parent coaches are always needed!

Preschool Playtime, Ages 5 & Under

Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) and Tuesdays/Thursdays (10:45 a.m.-1 p.m.)

Fee: $2/child; 10-day pass: $15. Release some energy at the Community Gym! Parent supervision required. Bouncing balls, tumble mats and more! No registration needed for this program. Sign in and pay at the gym.

Monday-Friday: 6 a.m.-2 p.m., 5-9 p.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sunday: noon-4 p.m.

Bay Village residents or those employed in the city are eligible for membership. Proof of residency or employment is required. Must be 13 years old to use equipment, ages 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult. Registrations must be done at the Recreation Department, 400 Bryson Lane, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
