St. Lads to hold pet blessing Oct. 6

Bring your dogs and other animal family members to St. Ladislas' pet blessing event Oct. 6.

In honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of pets, all dogs, cats, and other household animals (and their owners!) are invited to the First Annual Blessing of the Pets at St. Ladislas Catholic Church. The event will take place on Saturday Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Lads, 2345 Bassett Rd. in Westlake, at the back of the Church near the office entrance. After an introductory service, Bishop A.J. Quinn and Deacon John Travis will individually bless all pets.

The event is free and open to all. Several St. Francis pet medals will be given away. All pets should be on their leashes or in their cages.

Although our pets don't speak (Myna birds and parrots excepted!) if they could talk, they no doubt would say: "Take me to the pet blessing!" So why not come? You and your pet will be glad you did!
