Joe Tait to appear at the Bay Village Branch Library

Join us as Joe Tait speaks about his recent book, "Joe Tait: It’s Been a Real Ball" co-written with Terry Pluto, on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. The book is full of stories from Joe as well as dozens of fans, media colleagues and players.

Known to three generations of Cleveland sports fans, he was the “Voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers,” also making games come alive for Indians baseball and even Mount Union football. His “Hall of Fame” broadcasting career reflects his passion for sports and his work has inspired generations of young broadcasters.

His descriptive language has even become part of Northeast Ohio slang: “Wham, with the right hand…” and “To the line, to the lane…”.  When Joe was fired from announcing Cavs games in the 1980s, fans clamored for his return and he was rehired by new owner Gordon Gund who stated, “He is the franchise. To have a basketball team in Cleveland, you have to have Joe Tait.”

Registration is requested as seating is limited. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation sponsored by the Friends of the Bay Village Branch.
