Two shows left in Huntington Playhouse season

With two shows remaining in the Huntington Playhouse 2012 season, there is still plenty of time to see good theatre at great prices. On stage currently is the suspense thriller “Deathtrap” playing through Nov. 4.

A once-successful writer of Broadway thrillers is struggling to overcome a “dry” spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from one of his students; a script he recognizes as a potential Broadway hit. Suspense mounts when he suggests collaboration with the student on the script.

The season will conclude with a holiday production of “The Winter Wonderettes” opening on Nov. 23 and playing through Dec. 16. The Wonderettes are back and they are entertaining at the annual Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party. When Santa turns up missing, the girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity, plus some great holiday tunes such as “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Winter Wonderland” and many other seasonal favorites, to save the day. The result is, of course, marvelous! This entertaining show will delight audiences of all ages.

The theatre is also working with the Metro-West Kiwanis Club to sponsor a food drive for the Bay Ministries Food Bank during the Sunday, Nov. 25 matinee performance. For every five non-perishable food items brought in, the theatre will take $5 off the price of a full-price ticket.

Reservations are suggested and may be made by calling the box office at 440-871-8333. Huntington Playhouse is located at 28601 Lake Rd. in Bay Village and is an affiliate of the Cleveland Metroparks.
