Tuesday, July 2 (7-8:30 p.m.) Cleveland in the Gilded Age: A Stroll Down Millionaires’ Row Revisited – Join author Dan Ruminski as he shares stories about the 250 homes that were part of Cleveland's Millionaires’ Row. Copies of Dan's book will be available for signing and purchase for $20 cash or check. Please register.

Wednesday, July 3 (10:15-10:45 a.m. or 11-11:30 a.m.) Let’s Sing and Dance! – Join us for a fun session of singing and dancing for children ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Space is limited, so please arrive early enough to receive a ticket at the Preschool Desk.

Friday, July 5 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) Pokemon League – Bring your cards and accessories for a fun morning of play! For kids ages 6-12 only. Please, no younger siblings. Registration begins one week before each program.

Saturday, July 6 (2:30-3:30 p.m.) Brick Builders Club – Love those LEGO bricks? Then bring your ideas and imagination to the club! All bricks provided. Ages 6-13. Registration begins one week before each session.

Saturday, July 6 (3-4:45 p.m.) Mad4Manga – Do you love Manga, Anime or Japanese culture? If you do, this club is for you! Each month we watch a different Anime series and talk about our favorite Manga. Sometimes we even throw in some crafts, Manga drawing or Japanese treats just for fun! Grades 6-12 only. Registration not necessary.

Sunday, July 7 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) Zumba for Teens – Zumba is a fun workout that combines elements of several types of dance. Please wear comfortable workout attire and good gym/tennis shoes, and bring a towel and a water bottle. Grades 6-12. Registration begins on June 30.

Sunday, July 7 (2:30-3:30 p.m.) schWii-nanigans! – Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of Wii fun and games! Ages 6-11. Registration begins on June 30.

Sunday, July 7 (3-4 p.m.) ZumbAtomics – ZumbAtomics is a high-energy fitness party packed with dance. Ages 7-10. Registration begins on June 30.

Monday, July 8 (2-3:30 p.m.) Let's Build! – Explore your architectural side as we build with a variety of bricks and blocks. Grades K-5. Registration begins on July 1.

Tuesday, July 9 (7 p.m.) Tuesday Evening Book Discussion – This month we’ll discuss "Defending Jacob" by William Landay.

Tuesday, July 9 (7-7:45 p.m.) An Evening of Magic with Jason Alan – Join us for an evening of magic and laughter with Jason Alan. Free tickets available in Youth Services starting July 2.

Tuesday, July 9 (7-8 p.m.) Teen Choc-o-lympics – Team up with your friends for a fun night of chocolate competition! Grades 6-12. Registration begins July 2. Allergy Warning: Some items may contain nuts or other allergens. Please contact us if you have a concern about allergies.

Thursday, July 11 (7 p.m.) Non-Fiction Book Discussion – The July selection is "When America First Met China" by Jay Dolin.

Friday, July 12 (10:30-11:30 a.m.) iPad Users Group – Share easy tips with other iPad users. Please bring your iPad with you. Please register.

Friday, July 12 (11-11:45 a.m.) Can I Have a Cookie?Join us for fun cookie-themed stories, a cookie magnet craft and a sweet cookie treat! Ages 4-7. Registration begins July 5.

Fridays, July 12, 19 and 26 (2-3:30 p.m.) Movies @ Your Library – Join us for some fun summer films! All ages welcome. In accordance with library policy, children under age 9 must have a parent/adult guardian present. All movies are rated PG. Registration begins one week before each session. Based on availability, movie titles may change without notice. Titles include:

  • July 12: Follow the adventures of Speckles, a young dinosaur, who eventually becomes an adult and must fight with One-eye, a mean T-Rex that destroyed his family.
  • July 19: Return to Nim's wonderful island for a new adventure.
  • July 26: Nerdy Gary must save Scorch Supernova from the bad guys and escape from planet earth.

Saturday, July 13 (2-2:30 p.m.) Junior Brick Builders! – Let's build with Duplos! Bring your imagination and we'll provide the bricks. Ages 3-5 only. Registration begins July 6.

Monday, July 15 (6:30-7:30 p.m.) Take Me Out to the Ballgame – Come to the library in your favorite team attire, listen to baseball stories and make an ice cream treat! Ages 4-6. Registration begins July 8.

Monday, July 15 (7-8:30 p.m.) Monday Night Movie – Matt Damon stars as a natural gas company salesman whose life changes when he comes to a small town whose resources his employer hopes to tap. Rated R. Please register.

Tuesday, July 16 (2-3 p.m.) Sushi, Kid-Style – Make a fun craft and create your own yummy sushi masterpieces. Ages 7-10. Allergy warning: Peanut butter will be used during program. Registration begins July 9.

Tuesday, July 16 (6-8 p.m.) Life-Sized Clue for Teens – It'll be an exciting night of murder mysteries as we bring the classic board game, Clue, to life – with a few twists! Grades 6-12. Registration begins July 9.

Wednesday, July 17 (10:15-10:45 a.m. or 11-11:30 a.m.) Let’s Sing and Dance! – Join us for a fun session of singing and dancing for children ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Space is limited, so please arrive early enough to receive a ticket at the Preschool Desk.

Wednesday, July 17 (3-5 p.m.) Life-Sized Candyland – Bring all your little ones for a turn around the board as we bring this delicious world to life. Ages 3-8. Please call Youth Services for a time slot starting on July 10.!

Thursday, July 18 (2-3 p.m.) Jim Gill in Concert! – Legendary family fun artist Jim Gill returns to WPPL for a summer concert! Come and sing, dance, clap, jump and sneeze along with every song. Free tickets will be available in the Youth Services Department starting July 11. Limit 6 tickets per adult. No reserves.

Thursday, July 18 (3-4:30 p.m.) Chic & Simple Hair Ornaments – Learn how to embellish your headwear! Bring a comfortable, rigid headband or a hair clip or comb. We will also have some headbands available! Grades 6-12. Registration begins July 11.

Sunday, July 21 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) Sunday Zumba for Adults – Join Zumba instructor Mary Ann Francis for a free one-hour introduction to the latest fitness craze. Wear comfortable exercise clothes and be ready to work up a sweat. Please register.

Monday, July 22 (7-8:30 p.m.) Connecting for Kids Coffee & Chat – Parent support group for families who have a question or concern about their child’s development.

Tuesday, July 23 (6-8 p.m.) Zombie Bash! – Join us as we transform everyone into zombies, snack on brains, listen to creepy music and more. Some make-up and costume items will be available to use at the party, but you can come already dressed-up as a zombie! Grades 6-12. Registration begins July 16.

Wednesday, July 24 (10:15-10:45 a.m. or 11-11:30 a.m.) Let’s Sing and Dance! – Join us for a fun session of singing and dancing for children ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Space is limited, so please arrive early enough to receive a ticket at the Preschool Desk.

Thursday, July 25 (2-3 p.m.) Zombie Cupcakes – We're going to take ordinary cupcakes and decorate them with brains, eyeballs and other creepy goodies! All supplies will be provided. Grades 6-12. Tuesday, July 30 (7-8:30 p.m.) Civil War 150 Reading and Discussion Group – Read the material provided by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History (access it through the library’s website) and join us for a discussion about it. Please register.

Wednesday, July 31 (7-8:30 p.m.) UFOs: Unexplained Encounters – Thomas Wertman of MUFON Ohio and the Cleveland Ufology project returns to discuss unexplained sightings and encounters of the third kind. Doors open at 6:30. Please register starting July 1.
