Uncover your internal detective at Unity Class

Think about the Bible for a moment.

Do your thoughts become mingled with confusion over the enormous amount of writing by different authors in this historically rich Book of books? Or do you think back to the Hollywood drama starring Kirk Douglas as Moses? Do you ponder over the interesting characters whose stories are told, like Samson and Delilah, Noah and his Ark, Elijah and his fiery chariot?

Or, are you the type of person who has a few favorite Bible verses memorized, like Jeremiah 29:11, "For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future of hope." But beyond that – don't have a clue to really understanding this Holiest of Holies?

It may  be time to uncover and empower your internal detective, and consider the metaphysical or symbolic meaning that you may have missed within the passages. If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then maybe it's time to take action and  sign up for Unity Spiritual Center's four-week class, "Old Testament Metaphysical Interpretation" held Wednesday evenings, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting July 31 at Unity Spiritual Center.

Reverend Barbara Smith, minister at USC for the past 16 years, will be your chief detective.

A true Sherlock at unraveling the Bible's more difficult Scriptures, Reverend Barbara will teach you to seek and find passages, and not only uncover its more profound meaning, the layer deeper than just the words, asking, "What does this mean?" but "What does this mean to me?"

Yes, personalizing the meaning is important, because after all, it was written for you. There are no wrong interpretations, so don't expect to be preached at. You may discover it is more user-friendly than you ever thought possible, and its truth, a gift that has been waiting for you, and only you to unwrap it. This gift you give yourself may have a life-changing effect on the way you live your daily life. Your divine nature is being called into expression.

Unity Spiritual Center is located at 23855 Detroit Road in Westlake. To register, call 440-835-0400. Suggested reference materials are "Let There Be Light" by Elizabeth Sand Turner and "The Metaphysical Bible Dictionary" by Charles Fillmore.  There is no fee, but a donation is gratefully accepted. The class will meet in the Spirit Room. Seek and ye shall find! Be sure to bring your Bible!
