Learn how to find your roots at Westlake Porter Public Library

Curious about where your ancestors came from? Wondering if there’s any truth to the family stories that have been handed down for generations? Baffled about how to find this out? Find out how to trace your family tree at two upcoming genealogy programs at Westlake Porter Public Library, Beginning Genealogy and Genealogy 102.

Beginning Genealogy will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. In this class you will learn how to get started researching your family history – where to begin, how to research and what resources are available to you. Attendees are asked to bring along names and dates for hands-on research.

Genealogy 102 takes place on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 2-3:30 p.m. You’ll learn how to use the leading genealogy websites, including Ancestry.com and Fold3, and how to find information from several other useful sources.
