Westlake Porter Public Library will celebrate customers Oct. 20-26

Westlake Porter Public Library is once again thanking its loyal users with Customer Appreciation Week, which will take place the week of Oct. 20-26. Patrons will find special treats and programs at various times throughout the week, and a “Customer of the Day” will be honored each day.

Following are the programs the library has scheduled:

Sunday, Oct. 20 (2-4 p.m.) Friends' Sunday Sounds – The Friends of the Library presents the Elm Street Blues Band. Free program.

Monday, Oct. 21 (7-8:30 p.m.) Investors’ Interest Group – Les Szarka will examine several financial complexities, their risks and the possible solutions to protect your portfolio from potentially catastrophic consequences. Please register.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) Protect your Assets with Estate Planning – Our discussion will include legal strategies to avoid probate and preserve your assets in the event of incapacity/remarriage and protect your child's(ren's) legacy. Please register.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 (7-8 p.m.) Family Fun Night – Enjoy some good old-fashioned Halloween stories and rhymes, decorate a trick-or-treat bag and show off your costume in a library parade! Ages 3-6. Registration begins Oct. 16.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 (7-8:30 p.m.) Secrets of Effective Couponing – Super couponer Laura Ploenzke will teach you the secrets of saving money, with a special emphasis on holiday shopping. Please register.

Friday, Oct. 25 (2-3:30 p.m.) Meet the Director – Stop by and chat with the Library’s director!

Friday, Oct. 25 (4-5:30 p.m.) Weird Science – Our interactive program explores fundamental science principles, and you'll participate in hands-on experiments that you can reproduce at home. Grades 4 and 5.

Saturday, Oct. 26 (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Shredding Day – Bring your sensitive documents to be shredded for free by All Ohio Secure Shred. Limit two boxes per car, please.

Saturday, Oct. 26 (10:30-11 a.m.) Mother Goose on the Loose! – Join us for this interactive  storytime featuring simple books, rhymes, songs and movement. For ages birth-3 years old with adult caregiver. No registration.

Saturday, Oct. 26 (2-3:30 p.m.) Beginning Genealogy – Get started researching your family history. Bring along names and dates for hands-on research. Please register.

Saturday, Oct. 26 (2-3:30 p.m.) Porter’s Fall Festival – Join us to celebrate Fall with fun games, treats and more! No registration necessary.
