Hilliard teacher joins European tour with Cleveland Orchestra Chorus
Hilliard Elementary School music teacher Samantha Smith recently traveled through Europe with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, visiting four cities – Paris, France; Frankfurt, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; and Luxembourg City, Luxembourg – singing Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, with music played by the Cleveland Orchestra.
Smith was one of only 100 individuals chosen for this honor. She said she was excited for the opportunity to learn more about music in Europe and to sing in some “amazing” venues.
She created a bulletin board outside of her classroom to show the dates of her various locations. As part of the school’s International Baccalaureate program, Smith will share her global experiences with her students.
