Huntington Playhouse closes season with 'A Producerís Christmas Carol'

Huntington Playhouse concludes their 2013 season with a production of “A Producer’s Christmas Carol,” adapted from the book by Charles Dickens.  It runs through Dec. 22 with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings and a Sunday matinee on Dec. 22 at 2 p.m.

A producer at a local community theatre is trying to cast a production of “A Christmas Carol” and it is not going well. Actors are busy doing other shows, or just not interested in doing a show during the holiday season. Faced with the possibility of canceling the show, the beleaguered producer elects to do the show by himself. The show features Huntington Playhouse managing director Tom Meyrose as the producer facing this challenge. It is a unique telling of this Christmas classic.

The theatre is also selling gift certificates and Flex Passes for the 2014 theatre season. Shows scheduled for production are: “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged,” “Catch Me If You Can: The Musical,” “No Sex Please, We’re British,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” Agatha Christie’s “Murder at the Vicarage” and the holiday show will be “It’s A Wonderful Life.”

Contact the box office for information and arrangements, 440-871-8333.

Huntington Playhouse is located at 28601 Lake Road in the Huntington Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks.
