Upcoming programs at the Bay Village Branch Library

The Bay Village Branch Library staff wishes everyone a very happy holiday season! This has been another fun, successful year at the library and it’s all because of our priceless patrons! We know that the coming year will bring exciting programs as well, and we look forward to sharing information and entertainment with all of the communities.

The new year will also bring changes. Susan Ballard, head Children’s Librarian, will be retiring at the end of December. Please stop in and wish her well as she begins her new adventures. She would love to talk to the patrons that she has served over the years, and there are many little ones – and not so little ones! – that will surely want to wish Ms. B. well!

Weekly storytimes for all preschool ages will resume the week of Jan. 6. There is a storytime every day of the week except Monday. Stories and More meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. for ages birth-5 years. Snuggle Bugs on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. is for little ones ages birth-30 months, and Morning Movers on Thursdays at 10 a.m. is for ages birth-3 years. Preschool Pals will be a weekly storytime this winter at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. That storytime is a chance for your preschooler to attend storytime on his/her own while you enjoy some quiet time in the Children’s Room. It gives the preschoolers a chance to go into the room on their own, and fosters their independence.

There are a few special programs in December before the winter session begins – we hope you’ll join us, or stop in to browse the collection. Check out a book on CD for any car trip you’ll be going on, or some music of the season to enjoy. Please note that Bay Library will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25, and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
