Students entertain seniors with space-themed program

The children from the Westerly Elementary School in Bay Village enterained the residents of the Knickerbocker apartments on March 27. Third- and fourth-graders, led by their music teacher, Mrs. Carrie Engelbrecht, spent many hours working on the songs and dances, practicing speaking parts and music. The costumes were very colorful and creative I'm sure many people helped out with making and fitting the costume to the child.

The Knickerbocker social room was transformed into a large, beautiful galaxy. Suns, moons and planets circled around our makeshift solar system. Even Albert Einstein and Sally Rand stopped by to join in the fun. The whole experience was awesome.

The folks at the Knickerbocker are still talking about how wonderful the show was and how talented the children were. Both children and residents became more acquainted with how our universe works. One hundred twenty children, several parents and some teachers participated to make this presentation a huge success. These dedicated citizens gave of their time, talent and love to provide a super experience for Bay senior citizens, many of whom are unable to leave the building. Thanks to all who helped put on this spectacular show.
