Charles Ramsey to autograph new book in Westlake
Charles Ramsey, the neighbor who helped rescue three young women from Ariel Castro in Cleveland and became an overnight sensation, will appear at Barnes & Noble Booksellers; 198 Crocker Park Blvd. in Westlake to autograph copies of his new book, “Dead Giveaway.” The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, from 1-3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
In the book "Dead Giveaway" (Gray & Co., $14.95, paperback), Charles Ramsey gives an account of his life before, during and after the dramatic rescue of three kidnapped women in Cleveland on May 6, 2013. Ramsey (with coauthor Randy Nyerges) walks readers step-by-step through the day of the rescue; describes living next door to Ariel Castro; shares stories about growing up in a comfortable suburb but getting himself into trouble repeatedly; and tells what it’s like to become an instant media celebrity.
