Cuyahoga County Public Library strives to provide a welcoming environment for community members to connect, share ideas and enhance the vitality of the neighborhoods we serve. The Bay Village Branch is working to strengthen partnerships with the local business community and give merchants a chance to increase their visibility: highlighting their goods and services to our library customers.

The only standard for merchants to be eligible is that their business or franchise location be located within the limits of Bay Village. Monthly displays will be created using library materials that relate to the theme of that business to generate excitement for the merchants and the library alike. We will be asking those businesses participating in the Merchant of the Month program to donate item(s) for a monthly drawing to build the buzz around their business.

Interested businesses will be scheduled for a specific month and provided with a flyer to put up in their location that states that their business is the Merchant of the Month at the library and encourages customers to visit the library to sign up for the drawing. We will be scheduling for the next year and have received enthusiastic feedback from local many local businesses!

Bob Howe from Bay Barber Shop was eager to participate and got the coveted first Merchant of the Month display for this May. Bay Barber Shop has been in business since 1962, happily serving four generations of Westshore families, from first haircuts to senior citizens.

Bob generously donated two free haircuts and two ball caps for the May drawing! Stop into the Bay Village Branch Library to check out the Merchant of the Month! Interested business owners can call the library at 440-871-6392 or email
