Gallery shows and music June 6 at BAYarts
Two exciting shows are opening at BAYarts on Friday, June 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. Both shows will run through June 30.
In the Dianne Boldmann Education Gallery is the "Friends of BAYarts Collectors Show." The show features works of the friends and artists of BAYarts on loan from their private collections. The work will not be for sale.
The show's goal is to encourage people to consider collecting art and will share the personal stories of those who collect and why their piece is significant to them. There will be a gallery talk on June 11, 7-9 p.m. in the Dianne Boldmann Gallery which will feature gallery artists and owners with personal stories and tips for anyone interested in collecting art.
In the Sullivan Family Gallery the photography of Craig Mains will be featured in a show curated by Preston Buchtel called "For Everything a Place." The power of noticing is central to this exhibition of photography by the New York-based photographer and printmaker. In the common places and daily life situations familiar to us all, Mains finds associations and messages – intended, unintended and misread – that typically go unnoticed. He captures these observations, revealing moments of meaning, humor and beauty.
Live on stage during the openings will be Colin Dussault Blues Project.
