Huntington Playhouse to celebrate Shakespeare

The 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth will be celebrated when Huntington Playhouse opens their 2014 season with a production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged-Revised” on June 5.

The comedy is directed by Mark Moritz and features three young men attempting to perform all of the works of William Shakespeare. It is a fast-paced “Tour de Farce.” The comedy will run through June 29.

The theatre is also happy to announce that Apollo’s Fire will be returning to perform on Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m. The program, called "Glory on the Mountain," will feature Appalachian music and stories. Tickets for the concert are on sale and those interested should contact Apollo’s Fire directly at 1-800-314-2535.

Flex Passes for the 2014 season are currently on sale at a cost of $102 per pass which gives a patron six admissions to use at any of the theatre’s Friday or Saturday night performances as well as the final Sunday matinee performance. These admissions can be used in any combinations at any of the performances.
