Unity hosting wellness fair June 7

Live well, think well, eat well, be well, get well, stay well. We hear these short, two-word sentiments all the time. Well, well, well. Just as long as you don't tumble down one, because your wellness is something that should be taken seriously, but with a splash of fun, and a dash of the alternatives.

Come join us at Centered Wellness's Wellness Fair where there will be plenty of "well" and various ways to nurture and sustain your own wellness. Scheduled for Saturday June 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be ample time to browse and meet our caring practitioners. Admission is $5.

There are two celebrated keynote speakers: Dr. Janet Levatin, homeopathic physician and vocal proponent for holistic health care, at noon, and Noah St. John, author and inventor of "Afformations," at 2 p.m.

Practitioners of all kinds will be here to offer their services from A to Z. Experience and educate yourself, try organic food from P.U.R.E. Love, get a medical intuitive reading, experience reflexology, check out hand-crafted jewelry, and smell the great Arbonne products.

Here's just a sampling of who and what you will find at the Wellness Fair held at Unity Spiritual Center of Westlake.

The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root, "yuj" meaning "to yoke" or "unite" the physical body with spirit. Not all exercise needs to involve jumping, dancing, or pumping. Yoga utilizes and combines breath control, specific postures, and meditation. Meet Tolisa or Ranni for Yoga tips and classes. Attend the 9 a.m. Yoga session, stay for the entire day at no cost!

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques, can calm your fears and bring you new inner strength. Tapping on specific points of the skin signals and shifts brain activity towards the positive. Come meet Betsy Muller, EFT practitioner, and learn more about this simple yet powerful therapy.

Can you energize your money at the same time you energize your life? Do you have an excellent relationship with your money or have never thought of the possibility of having a relationship with your money? Come meet Jan Litterst, Transitional Money Coach, and find out more.

Reiki is really two Japanese words, "Rei" meaning the higher power, "ki" meaning life force energy. Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the practitioner channels energy to trigger the healing process. Benefits include feelings of deep peace and a greater sense of well-being. Like various types of Yoga such as Hatha, Raja, and Bhakti, there are various types of Reiki, such as Shamanic Reiki which gives serene relaxation in a sacred environment. Don't exclude your pet from Reiki, animals can receive the benefits also. Come meet Medical Intuitive Mary Maynard, for your pets meet Sheila and Debbie of Beyond the Bag Pet Nutrition.
