Village Foundation honors student trustees

Jake Fowler and Emmy Korte, with Eileen Vernon, Village Foundation president.

The Village Foundation honored its two high school student trustees, Jake Fowler and Emmy Korte, at its May meeting. The Bay High seniors dedicated two years of service to the Foundation, focusing primarily on the bi-annual Bay Village Waterways Cleanup held in the fall and spring of each year. This spring’s cleanup event is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at Bay Middle School followed by a Foundation sponsored luncheon. Jake and Emmy also supported the Foundation’s Heritage Run – a 5K race in October of each year – and provided insight into the Foundation’s website.

Jake Fowler was a captain on the Bay High Rockets football team and was recognized as a three-year varsity letter winner as well as first-team all West Shore Conference. He was a member of PAL and YPF at the high school. Jake plans to attend Ohio University and major in business.

Emmy Korte was a lieutenant for two of her four years on the Bay High Rockettes. She was an active member of HUDDLE, Yearbook, YPF, PAL, and Thespians. She will be attending Indiana University in the fall and plans to major in media studies and communications.
