Injured firefighter takes last ride home from duty

Jim Zemek has been a firefighter/paramedic for the city of North Ridgeville for 17 years. Jim recently sustained a back injury in the line of duty, making it impossible for him to continue in this beloved and proud profession.

On May 30, the North Ridgeville Fire Department escorted Jim on his last ride home from duty to his house in Bay Village. Members of the Bay Village Fire Department were honored to join in this escort and to recognize the life of service and sacrifice that Jim exemplifies. Thank you and may God bless you, Jim!
