Overdrive's Digimobile to visit Westlake Porter Public Library

Learn how to download audio and e-books when the Overdrive Digimobile visits Porter Library Aug. 16.

Learn more about digital library resources and how easy it is to access them when Overdrive Inc.’s Digimobile visits Westlake Porter Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The Digimobile includes a variety of devices on which visitors can try their hand downloading digital audio and e-books from the library’s collection. Overdrive is WPPL’s digital audio and e-book collection provider. The visit is part of the Cleveland-based company's National Digital Bookmobile tour.

In addition to the devices for hands-on demos, Overdrive staff on the Digital Bookmobile will answer questions about their service and teach visitors how to download media onto supported devices. Visitors will also be able to view instructional videos and engage with interactive computer stations. The Digital Bookmobile will be parked in the library’s parking lot, near Center Ridge Road.

The digital, downloadable audio and e-book collection from Overdrive makes it possible for owners of devices like smartphones, tablet PCs , e-book readers and computers to borrow digital media from the library and play it on these popular devices. The Overdrive audiobook and eBook collection is available through the library’s website at www.westlakelibrary.org/?q=downloadables.

The library’s digital, downloadable collection offers many benefits, including portability and no late fees (digital files you check out are automatically “returned”) and includes titles for adults, teens and children.
