Upcoming programs at Bay Village Branch Library

As children get ready to go back to school, we want to remind you that the Bay Village branch library is a great place to find books to help them get school-ready. From topics such as first-day jitters, Common Core, peer pressure, and healthy lunch box ideas, our librarians are here to help with recommendations of great titles to help prepare for the 2014-15 school year.

Our summer reading program is winding down and we'll be throwing a wrap-up party on Saturday, Aug. 16. We look forward to seeing you there, as we have some fun activities planned. Don't forget to log in those reading minutes to have a chance to win some great prizes.

Saturday, Aug. 9 (10:30 a.m.) Sensory Storytime – These storytimes, designed specifically for children with special needs and their families, incorporate a schedule board, double visuals and sensory opportunities as well as a half-hour of socialization time following the program.

Thursday, Aug. 14 (2 p.m.) Cookies and Books – Children in grades 3-5 are invited to enjoy cookies as we discuss a good book. Copies of the book will be available one month before the discussion.

Saturday, Aug. 16 (2 p.m.) Summer Reading Wrap Party – Register for our wrap-up party. Join us to enjoy treats, chalk the walk, tie-dye and other surprises to end our summer reading program.

Please register to attend the programs online at cuyahogalibrary.org, call us at 440-871-692, or stop in to the library at 502 Cahoon Road and register with a librarian.
