Bay Village Lacrosse Association (BVLA) will sponsor its third annual “Football Watch Party” fundraiser featuring the Ohio State vs. Penn State game on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Copper Cup, 680 Dover Center Road in Westlake. In addition to the OSU game, there will be a live feed to a local high school football game.

Event proceeds benefit BVLA to help fund the group’s capital equipment drive and support numerous Bay Village boys and girls lacrosse programs throughout the entire year.

Mike Voll, director of BVLA, said, “In the past four years, we have seen the development of a girls team at the high school level, along with added teams for girls ages fifth through eighth grade. In addition, the boys program has expanded to include third- and fourth-graders. This summer, BVLA also helped host skills camps for players in kindergarten to eighth grade.

“With the tremendous growth of the program, we have decided to streamline our fundraising efforts into one major event a year. For the past two years, parents and community members have enjoyed this casual, football-themed fundraiser, and we are looking forward to another successful night!”

In addition to football, lacrosse will be highlighted at the event. The BVLA watch party will include a silent auction with items ranging from lacrosse gear to donations from local merchants. In addition, a wheelbarrow filled with a variety of adult beverages will be raffled off at the event. Door prizes will also be given out during the game.

Ticket cost for the adults-only BVLA Football Watch Party is $30 per person. Price includes beer, wine, pop and heavy appetizers. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Mike Voll at: 440-570-4263 or e-mail mike.voll@conxx.net.

Bay Village Lacrosse Association was founded to initiate and support student lacrosse programs throughout the community, as well as the entire Westside of Cleveland. BVLA currently offers lacrosse programs to students in third through eighth grades and actively supports the high school programs. Currently, there are more than 220 students participating on lacrosse teams in Bay Village.
