5 WHS students recognized in career-tech programs
Three Westlake High School seniors will receive the Lakewood/Rocky River Rotary Outstanding Student Award for exceptional accomplishments in their West Shore Career-Technical District programs.
Eric Van Keuls will receive the award for service occupations training, Megan Knott for early childhood education/senior services and Colin Murphy for community-based training.
The award recognizes students who are the top performers in their career-technical programs. These students will be acknowledged at the Lakewood/Rocky River Rotary recognition luncheon on March 16.
Two other WHS students were selected for the 2015 Lakewood Chamber of Commerce/Lakewood-Rocky River Sunrise Rotary Work Ethic Award for their exemplary performance in their West Shore Career-Technical District programs.
Brady Stevens earned the award for community-based training, and Colin Teets for construction trades.
The Work Ethic Award recognizes students for their commendable attendance, attitude and achievement. Work Ethic nominees have met the following criteria – exemplary work ethic, consistent balance of work and school by good performance in both areas, and a positive attitude.
