Porter Library seeks cafe proposals

Westlake Porter Public Library is seeking proposals for a new café to fill the space vacated by Pulleys at Porter in December. The library board believes that a café provides a convenience to library patrons, some of whom may spend hours using library materials and services and will welcome access to the café for light refreshment. The library’s goal is to have a new café open in July.

The library has allocated a very desirable 852-square-foot space for the café, in close proximity to the spacious entrance lobby. The area is convenient to both those using the library proper and to those attending functions in the meeting room wing.

Food concessions are increasingly common in public libraries around the country. Private-sector vendors have come to realize that library patrons represent a desirable demographic – demonstrating strong customer loyalty and offering high traffic volume in a distinctive, pleasing environment.

Interested applicants may request an RFP from: Administrative Offices, Westlake Porter Public Library, 27333 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, OH  44145. It may also be found on the library’s website at www.westlakelibrary.org. Proposals are due by noon on April 29. Potential café operators must attend a pre-proposal conference at 10 a.m. on April 15. For more information, call 440-250-5451.
