Landscapes highlighted in April gallery exhibitions at BAYarts

"Street Cafe" by Bernie D'Ettorre

BAYarts is hosting two gallery shows this April that heavily feature inspiring landscapes.

In the Diane Boldman Education Gallery, the art of Marge Gulley and Bernie D'Ettorre are featured for "April in Paris." This show has a heavy focus on key places of Paris that both women have connected with. "From the king’s crypts deep under Cathedrale de Saint Denis to the heights of the Tour Eiffel, I found every section a never ending supply of visual material for drawing," Gulley said.

In the Sullivan Family Gallery this April, the Rob Roth exhibition, "High Tide," offers atmospheric art landscapes. Roth's approach was developed in a unique, personal way. "My landscapes are built through abstraction, composing them with a break up of a low horizon line juxtaposed against the reflection and movement of the open sky," Roth said. "I try to treat them almost as an intimate still life bringing the viewer to eye level as if it were set on a stage."

The opening receptions for both shows that run concurrently are Friday, April 10, from 7-9 p.m. The exhibitions will be on display through April 25.
