'Drawing into Nature' unveiled at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center

Artist Danielle Cammuso found inspiration in the local wildlife at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center.

A new exhibit at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center will draw visitors even closer to wildlife thanks to a local artist inspired by the Center’s living collection.

Danielle Cammuso, an artist working in soft pastels, has created “Drawing into Nature” which showcases the wildlife of the Center in Cammuso’s bold and beautiful style.

“We know that the Center has a powerful impact on those who are part of our community,” says Executive Director Catherine Timko. “Visitors often share stories about coming to our programs as children and how the Center has encouraged their educational path and career decisions. Danielle also found great inspiration in Lake Erie Nature & Science Center which she is now using to inspire others through passionate and vivid art. This exhibit is a celebration of her talent and ability to capture the fascinating qualities of wildlife.”

An artist’s reception will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, from 7-9 p.m., and all are invited.

The artwork will remain on display through Oct. 31 and is available for purchase. A portion of proceeds benefit the Center’s mission to educate and inspire each of us to understand, appreciate and take responsibility for our natural universe.

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center is open seven days a week and admission is always completely free. Visitors are welcome to view the art as well as the indoor and outdoor exhibits. More information about programs and events going on at the Center in October can be found at lensc.org.
