Meet the Board of Education Candidates: Robert Stoll

Robert Stoll

I am Dr. Robert Stoll and I am running for the Westlake School Board.

I believe that a school board must be responsive and receptive to parents, staff, students and the community at large, encouraging an open dialog. The board must take input from all groups and weigh all the facts before making a decision.

A Board member is a trustee of the community that elects him or her. That Trustee must be accessible and willing to collaborate with all members of the community; that includes all District staff. Anyone that comes before the board has the right to be heard, not just to speak. A school board member must build public understanding, support and participation.

I believe that my work experience as a plant manager, general manager and technical director and my educational background provides me with the necessary skills and qualifications. I am an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at Ashland University. I have earned both B.S.M.E. and M.B.A. degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from CWRU and a Ph.D. from Cleveland State University in Operations and Supply Chain Management. I have served for many years as a volunteer in the Westlake Schools.

By listening to the voters, the board needs to provide positive change for the school district. We can all share in the knowledge and satisfaction that we have provided for the educational needs of all children while being fiscally responsible to the taxpayers.
