North Coast Health helping individuals with health care coverage

Do you have questions about the Affordable Care Act (ACA)? Or questions on what insurance coverage may be available to you or your family? Did you apply last year, and have questions about re-enrollment?

North Coast Health, a faith-based free and charitable medical clinic in Lakewood, offers application assistance. Certified application counselors are available to answer questions and assist with applications for Medicaid and Marketplace plans.

To ready yourself, and your family, for the ACA’s Marketplace Open Enrollment, here is some important information:

  • The goal of the ACA is to make health care more affordable, available and of a higher quality for individuals, families and seniors.

  • Open enrollment (the time a person is able to enroll in a health insurance plan through the ACA’s Marketplace) began Nov. 1 and continues through Jan. 31, 2016.

  • If you can afford health care coverage, but choose not to apply, you may be required to pay a fee, or may need to apply for a health care exemption.

For Medicaid enrollment

  • Through the ACA, Ohio has expanded Medicaid coverage to individuals whose income is at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level. If you quality, you may be eligible for several programs within Medicaid, and North Coast Health is available to assist with enrollment and to answer questions on eligibility.

North Coast Health’s certified application counselors are available by appointment at 16110 Detroit Ave., Lakewood. You do not need to be a patient of North Coast Health to receive help with an application. To schedule an appointment with an application counselor, call 216-228-7878. NCH is available to assist, throughout the year, for individuals eligible for Medicaid or needing support with any changes to Marketplace applications.
