Colagiovanni earns BVHS scholarship
Laura Colagiovanni has been selected to receive the Bay Village Historical Society’s scholarship for 2017. Colagiovanni is the daughter of Chris and Joy.
Colagiovanni is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club, having served as that organization’s Ohio District Governor during her junior year. She also was honored for giving the most service hours to the Bay Key Club during 2014 and 2015.
An honor roll student her entire high school career, she also was a member of the a capella choir, yearbook staff, and was a junior varsity cheerleader.
Colagiovanni will be attending The Ohio State University as a public affairs major on a pre-law track in the John Glenn College. She hopes to eventually find employment with an organization similar to Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch or UNICEF, she said.
"It is an honor to be selected by the Bay Village Historical Society to receive this scholarship. I am incredibly grateful for the eager investments our community members make in the education of graduating students and I hope to appropriately give back to the place that has profoundly impacted my life. It is undeniable that the overwhelming generosity and philanthropic spirit within the community is deeply rooted in our history and is clearly seen through such scholarships. Bay Village, my one and only home, has allowed me to meet individuals who have challenged me to grow in character and develop skills that I hope to utilize to constantly better communities such as ours."
