Bay Legion to retire flags for Flag Day

The Bay Village American Legion will hold a flag retirement ceremony on June 9.

The Bay Village American Legion Post 385 will retire old, torn and faded flags on Friday, June 9, at their Post home, 695 Cahoon Road in Westlake. This is part of their Flag Day program.

The flag retirement is conducted in accordance with strict military procedures. Each year the Post retires between 400 and 500 flags.

Citizens can place their flags in the red, white and blue box next to the front door of the Post prior to that date. The Post home is just south of the railroad tracks on Cahoon Road.
