The Bay Men’s Club, the city’s second-oldest civic organization and which is celebrating its centennial, has awarded $1,000 scholarships to two worthy and deserving Bay High seniors, Mikayla Nemetz and Chris Gepperth. They, along with their parents, were recently honored at the club’s year-end golf outing and pig roast.

Nemetz will be studying international studies and pre-law at The Ohio State University; Gepperth will be studying mechanical engineering at the University of Akron. Gepperth is the grandson of longtime Bay Men’s Club member Elwyn Mehlman, a coincidence since all scholarship applications are submitted anonymously.
