DIS sixth-grader earns perfect score in vocabulary challege
Dover Intermediate School sixth-grade student Lillie Forbes earned a perfect score of 20 on the WordMasters Challenge, a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 150,000 students annually.
Lillie competed in the difficult Blue Division and was one of only 15 sixth-graders nationally to achieve this perfect score. Students were coached by language arts teacher Jessica Ranallo.
Lillie is the second DIS sixth-grade student to earn a perfect score this year. Roman Lucarelli earned a perfect score in the same division earlier this year.
The WordMasters Challenge is an exercise in critical thinking that first encourages student to become familiar with a set of new words, and then challenges them to use those words to complete analogies expressing various kinds of logical relationships.
