Bay Village library to host mobile learning adventure
The Bay Village Library will host the PNC Grow Up Great – “Early Learning is All Around Me!” Mobile Learning Adventure on Monday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Mobile Learning Adventure (MLA) is a traveling exhibit that provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the importance of early childhood education while they engage in fun activities with their children. A part of PNC Grow Up Great – a $350 million, multi-year initiative that began in 2004 to help children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life – the MLA includes interactive kiosks and the “When I Grow Up” station, where kids dress up as different professionals and have their picture superimposed on an appropriate background. In addition, parents can take home activity books and learning kits that demonstrate how to take everyday moments and turn them into learning opportunities.
The educational exhibit allows parents and children to engage in unique interactive activities – whether visiting a learning kiosk, imagining the future or exploring the difference between a need and a want. It’s a great way to discover how everyday moments are learning opportunities.
“We are excited to provide another opportunity for our youngest customers and their families to engage in activities that foster interactive learning and spark their imagination. The Mobile Learning Adventure will open their eyes to the possible career paths they might follow,” said Jessica Breslin, Bay Village Library branch manager.
The Mobile Learning Adventure will be set up on the west side of the library parking lot.
Sarah Polace is the children's librarian at the Bay Village Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library System.
